PMC has signed up as a Proper Pompey Pledger, adding its support to Portsmouth’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2029.

Portsmouth is currently one of nine cities on the longlist for the title, with a shortlist due to be announced in autumn 2026. The city’s campaign, “We Are Proper Pompey,” is led by Portsmouth Creates in partnership with Portsmouth City Council, and is calling on local businesses to pledge their support as part of the bid.

By becoming a Pledger, PMC joins a growing group of Portsmouth businesses backing the campaign, adding its voice to the case that the city’s community and business network stand behind the bid.

“We’re proud to back Portsmouth’s City of Culture bid as a Proper Pompey Pledger,” said Steve Cripps, Managing Director, PMC. “Portsmouth has such a strong sense of identity and community, and we want to play our part in helping the city make the most of this opportunity.”
