Ropetackle, Shoreham

Ropetakle Shoreham by PMC Construction

The complex site bordered by a raised railway embankment, was set within a disused plot of land with derelict buildings, next to the river and close to the town centre.  The challenges of building within a flood plain also had to be incorporated into the design, therefore connecting to a new Environment Agency flood defence wall and existing coastal path.

The development also consists of retail units, riverfront café and gallery, and was built over multiple phases.

The Café

The riverfront cafe will provide both the new and existing residents with a focal meeting point with river views. An external seating terrace will provide an exciting destination with its direct connections to the river path back into the town centre.

Gallery

Connected to the cafe there will be a proposed gallery or flexible space for passable community use. This space may give the potential for local artists to exhibit their work in a riverside setting. Visitors can wander around exhibitions while enjoying a drink from the cafe.

Retail Unit

The community retail space at the entrance of the scheme will provide a convenience store to the locality as well as providing local employment.

Project Details

This fantastic development built by PMC sits alongside the River Adur in Shoreham. Comprising 120 new homes with a mixture of three and four bedroom houses, and one and two bedroom apartments.
